Deoderent on a plane?

Are you allowed to take deoderent (travel size) with you on the plane in your carry-on bag WITHOUT putting it int a plastic.ziploc bag/

  1. You should bring a Deodorant roller not a spray, because there is gas in the spray.


  2. When I traveled in May, the TSA representative was saying that if it melts in the sun it needs to be in your bag...thus, deodorant is counted as a "liquid, gel or aerosol" for that purpose and needs to be in your Ziploc.

    If you have any other doubts about items, just put them in your Ziploc. The amount of hassle it takes to stick something in a baggie is very small compared to what you would go through at security if they find products in your carry on that shouldn't be there.

  3. Roller deodorant is a liquid so must be in the zip lock bag.

  4. No, it needs to be in the little plastic bag.  I just flew last week & they made the guy ahead of me in line take all of his stuff out of his bag & put it in the little baggies.  If the item was not 3oz. or less they took it from him. I felt so sorry for the poor guy.
