Question:

Deodorant vs Anti-perspirant

As soon as I found out my girlfriend was using anti-perspirant, I bought her a deodorant because I heard anti-perspirant can cause cancer. I have two questions:

1) The deodorant I bought her, doesn't say it has aluminium and it also doesn't say the word anti-perspirant but it said something about absorbing the sweat. Does that make it still cancerous? The brand of the deodorant was Adidas if that's relevant.

2) She said, with the deodorant I bought her, she has to use it like five times a day as opposed to one time with the anti-perspirant. Is this a disadvantage of deodorants or are there deodorants that will suit her and not leave her needing to use it five times a day?

  1. There's no known link between anti-perspirants and cancer. The anti-perspirant is the only wait to keep her from needing to reapply it, as it prevents sweating. Deodorant without anti-perspirant only covers up odors, so the only way to prevent this would be to get one that smells incredibly strong.

  2. Deoderant is less effective as it really only covers up odor. Anti-perspirants contain aluminum which counteracts your body's pH and therefore is more effective in preventing odor and sweating. Aluminum has been labeled as a possible cause of cancer and also Alzheimer's disease. I have not found a solution, unfortunately, but to answer your question...yes, the disadvantage of deoderant is that it is simply a mask, as opposed to a preventative thing.

  3. I don't think anti-perspirant causes cancer, as far as i know, the only thing it can cause is a type of mold thats easily removed with prescription medicine...

I use a two in one... so i get covered for both...

  4. A table spoon of high strength liquid chlorophyll every morning is all you need.

Liquid chlorophyll is an internal deodorant that deodorizes your body odors before they are secreted through your pores and it also has a cooling effect so you will perspire a bit less.

Liquid chlorophyll also promotes a healthy digestive environment and is also an energy booster.

You can find further details in web searches for "liquid chlorophyll" + deodorant and "liquid chlorophyll" + "cooling effect".

  5. Antiperspirant's do not cause cancer as far as I know. Women who have or had breast cancer and had lymph nodes removed are told by their doctors that they should use a natural deodorant without aluminum in them after having had their surgury. Antiperspirants can cause clogging of pores in your armpit by preventing sweating, and that can cause it's own problem of a clogged pore which would show as a large boil/pimple.  Unless your girlfriend has been diagnosed with cancer and her doctor said she shouldn't use deodorants with aluminum, she should be fine to use whatever she likes best.
