Ok I have been on depo for almost 3 months now the first week I had unprotected s*x which the shot didnt protect. Also the week before the shot I had unprotected s*x too. Now the last week plus I've been feeling preggo and the whole 3 months I had no period but all of sudden I started to spot. Like a light period. So my question is could I be pregnant or just depo symptoms ? My shot hasnt ended yet and I want to get off when its due. Any advice?

  1. I was on Depo last year, and I had random spotting w/no periods. Depo is pretty much the worst form of BC for weird side-effects. Getting off depo you will most likely not get a period right away, and will still have the random spotting. I doubt you are pregnant because Depo makes you feel like you have constant PMS without the period. PMS symptoms are pretty similar to pregnancy symptoms so I guess that's why you would feel that way. If you are really unsure try taking a home pregnancy test to calm your nerves. Get off the shot either way its terrible, and if you do plan on getting pregnant it can hold up the process for a long time. It also decreases calcium density in the bones which can be unhealthy later in life (take a daily vitamin with calcium just incase). I have been TTC, and it took me 6 months to get a regular cycle after depo. I'm on my 7th month of trying to get pregnant after depo, and just now have gotten a normal cycle to try with. I suggest a different form of birth control if you are young, and if you want to have a baby be patient after getting off depo because your body is gonna be 'out of sync' for a little while. Good Luck, but I really don't think your pregnant.

  2. You're not pregnant, it's all DEPO.

  3. This is another classic example of why people shoulden't use contraceptives unless they are educated about them. No offence.

Its normal to not get periods on depo.

Secondly if you got the shot durin your period like you are suposed to, you would have been protected right away.

Depo makes you feel pregnant because contraceptives trick your body into thinking its pregnant so you don't get pregnant. Simple logic really..

    I doubt you are pregnant.
