  1. Yes it is and normally a Dr will change your bc since that isn't very good but most people I know just stopped having any cycle. You should see your Dr.

  2. Yes a side effect of the depo shot is irregular bleeding which includes bleeding of all kinds. Only worry if it is super super heavy and you feel weak or light headed.

  3. I was on the shot for 4 years. I bled for about 2 months when I started it but then I didn't have a period for the rest of the time I was on it. I also gained 60 pounds throughout that whole time even though I worked out like crazy. The irregular bleeding is one of the side effects but it should stop to where you won't have a period.

  4. yes..but i never had this myself..my sister in law went on the depo shot and she told me that it caused her to bleed.  I think she said she bled for 3 months straight, oh and another thing, everyone i know who is on the depo shot has gained lots of weight, just thought i'd let you know.

  5. Yes, spotting/bleeding is a side effect of depo. Eventually if you keep up with the shots your period should stop coming all together- though some women continue to spot without their period ever disapearing all together. Also, if you are losing weight while on Depo and normally don't have a period you will have increased spotting/bleeding.

I was on Depo for 5 years (the max recommended time to be on it is 2 years- which no doctor every told me!) and had horrible side effects which I never linked to getting the shots though other women I know used it and had little to no side effects. Keep an eye out for weight gain, acne, depression/anxiety/mania, continual spotting or bleeding such as you've described, and a decrease in s*x drive... If any of these side effects show up in you, I would consider switching birth control methods as they can compound over time.

The convenience is great but man those side effects are a killer... Well, each woman is different so I hope you luck out and feel minimal effects from the hormonal changes!

    Best Wishes!

  6. Yes most likely especially if you have had normal menstruals.  Just a warning I got it a long time ago and it made me gain hella weight.  Also do you really think that its normal that you don't have a period monthly cause I know that was one of the advantages that the doctor told me if I was to get it.  Well its not because woman have a menstrual for a reason to clean out your womanly parts monthly.....think about it.

  7. I had spotting for the first couple months, then  no period at all, which I loved.  The only side effect I had was weight gain, other than that I was A-ok.
