I was using depo vera as a form of birth control after i gave birth, depo vera is a shot that you get every three months to prevent pregnancy and usually stops you from having a period. so, i took depo vera for about 2 years and i stop and i have been off it for about 2 years and i got my period once around this year in march, from there i have not gotten my period and i went to go see a GYN and she said its different for everyone when they get there period and start having kids again since my husband and i are trying to have a baby (inshallah). so i just wanted to make sure if its normal that i have not gotten my period yet and will it take a while to have a baby.

  1. Normal in the sense that it is a rather usual side effect of the shot. It sucks, it takes some women's bodies forever to adjust to being normal again without the shot in their systems. Since you have already had ONE period after stopping it, I would say you probably CAN have a baby, whether you actually ovulate every month or not is probably difficult to tell, but just keep trying! It make take a little while, but you will have your baby!! good luck!:)
