Does anyone know the deportation process for someone who is detained at an immigration facility? How long does it take to see the judge and then get deported? PLEASE HELP!!! SERIOUS PEOPLE ONLY!!!

  1. It all depends, some people move through the system faster than others.

    MY COUSIN was detained this summer and he did not see a judge for 2 weeks. In the end it he was detained for about a month, transferred TWICE and finally deported to Mexico City...

    I recommend you speaking with someone immediately, find out their case number, and demand some answers. Then talk to some lawyers in your area.

There's no way to tell how long it will take in any specific case.  Immigration officials have to determine the person's nationality, and if they do not have proper ID and travel documents (such as their passport), they must obtain them from the person's country.  They take biometrics so that the person can be detained and deported if they ever try to re-enter.  Then they wait until there is transportation available, e.g. a bus-full to Mexico or planeload.  If they are Mexican and have a matricular consular or passport, it can be as little as 2 - 3 days.  If the person misrepresents info about their nationality, etc., they can remain in detention for weeks.
