The Monday night La Liga match saw Deportivo draw 0-0 with Real Valladolid at the Riazor as they continue to prop up La Liga standings.
Deportivo La Coruna have had a troubled season so far and were in hunt for their first league win in 6 matches as they hosted Real Valladolid for their La Liga fixture on Monday night.
Deportivo entered the match being in the relegation zone and a win for them on the night would have seen them come out of the relegation zone.
However the hosts failed to impress and get the goal that would grant them all 3 points on the night.
The home side had some http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Simeone’s Atletico Madrid. Colombian striker was at the helm of the damage that day as he netted in a record 5 goals against
Deportivo, to sum up a forgettable night for the away side.
Deportivo settled in well in to the match and nearly took the lead in the 20th minute as Bruno’s vicious shot required a smart save form http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-c9867 Hernandez.
Valladolid responded well and crafted a fine move on which Lux had to make a double save to deny http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oscar-c28720 Garcia a certain goal.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riki-c31157 then tried his luck with 32 minutes on the clock, but the away side’s goalkeeper made a smart save.
The second half also saw a number of chances being made but none taken as the personal duel between Oscar and Lux continued to extend.
Hernandez on the other hand was also called in to action as he had to deny Riki and Pizzi both on separate occasions.
The game looked destined for a stalemate but the two sides kept trying and seeking for the breakthrough.
However, with 7 minutes remaining on the clock, Deportivo created the best chance of the match for them but luck was not to be with the home side and Salomao blazed his shot over the goal after being totally alone and the goal being entirely at his mercy.
Valladolid managed to see the game out and the points were shared.
