Depression and intimacy?

Has anybody every suffered with depression/anxiety and did not want to be around their boyfriend/girlfriend. Lose interest, and not feel attracted to them? Not wanting to be touched, kissed, etc.? Very irritable and not turned on by them?? I just started medication..so its not the medication that is making my s*x drive low...

yes it can be attributed to your depression I've been there I know what it's like I've been married 21yrs and before I began wellbutrin XL I didn't want s*x I didn't want to be touched held kissed nothing depression effects so much more than just the mind remember: This to shall pass

its not always an easy thing to deal with, but i would suggest talking to them about it.  make sure you let them know whats going on without hurting their feelings otherwise things could turn out worse for you than when you started.  what i have done in the past is let them know what you are going through and that your have been depressed lately, but do not necessarily tell them that you don't want to be around them.  they will mostly likely help you out as much as they can, and if you feel like you need to be alone for a while, they should be willing to give you space.  it has worked for me in the past, and it should work for you if you go about it the right way.

also, if you just started new medication, look into the side effects.  it may be the meds that are making your s*x drive low, and if it is, go talk to your doctor about it.  they may switch your medication, have you wait a little while longer to see if it persists, or something along the lines of that.  i have not had this problem with my medication so i cannot say for sure on the s*x drive.

The first thing you need to do is figure out why your s*x drive is low and try to help get it back.  I was in your situation and it's not fun without being horny and feeling in the mood when needed.  I also felt like my orgasms (if I would even get one) were really weak.  Probably because of my s*x drive.
