Question:

Depth control in groundstrokes?

Is there anyway to control the depth of groundstrokes? Everytime I return the ball, the ball goes ALL the way up in the air. Occasionally I can return a ball that goes well above the net. Any tips? thanks.

  1. I make this when I want the top spin. Sometime it is helping me for when the enemy is at the net and I go over his head. Also, it seem like the easy ball, with loop, but it has my spin and therefor they sometimes hit it wrong response.

I try to change the follow through and this help.

  2. Depending on how long you've played, if you balls are coming out short, try aiming higher. If you just started, try hiting against a wall first so you can get a consistent feel for a shot and see you net coverage.

  3. Well it depends how long you have been playing.

I know a lot of people when they first start playing they do hit the ball very high, very often. With practice,  you will get better.

However, if you've been playing a while and still hit it very high, it might have to do with the racquet or your grip.

  4. amount of topspin

    amount of power

where you hit the ball compared to your body.... which by the way should always be in front....but if you hit it at your body or behind you it wont go as deep
