Derbyshire, Leicestershire evenly poised after first day in County Championship Division Two
Derbyshire were trailing by 129 runs with six wickets remaining in their County Championship Division Two match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Leicestershire-c807, at the County Ground, Derbyshire in England on Thursday. The hosts managed 101 runs for the loss of four wickets at the
close of the first day’s play.
Derbyshire’s captain Luke Sutton won the toss and elected to field first. The wicket had some assistance for the seamers, as the ball swung in the air and seamed off the pitch. However, the visitors managed to score 230 runs in their first innings.
Leicestershire didn’t get off to an ideal start, as they lost opener Will Jefferson early. He managed only six runs off nine balls in his short stay at the wicket. First-drop http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jacques-Du-Toit-c65245 was the next man to follow after failing to add any run to the
total. Things got even worse for the visitors when they lost 21-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Taylor-c66127, who scored only seven runs in his innings.

start he got to his innings, getting out for 27 runs.

to tumble after Naik was dismissed for 15.

It seemed as if the visitors would be bowled out within 150, but South Africa's seasoned campaigner, Claude Henderson rescued his team from trouble. He smashed 77 runs from 73 balls, hitting ten fours and two massive sixes. His innings eventually came to
an end after he had scored 96 runs for the last wicket partnership with captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Hoggard-c1926.

Redfern also threw their wickets away. They got out for 16 and six respectively, but Madsen was unbeaten on 41 until close of play.
