Derbyshire defeat Glamorgan by six wickets: County Championship Division Two - First Innings recap

Derbyshire’s captain, Luke Sutton, opted to bat first after winning the toss. He expected a solid performance from his team, as the pitch was good for batting. However, there was some assistance for the bowlers as well, which made the game interesting.

Madsen missed-out on a half-century and was sent back to the pavilion after adding 44 runs to the total. He took his time to settle down and looked solid in the middle, but was unable to convert his start into a big innings.

Redfern had a very good day with the bat, as he scored 88 runs before being dismissed. He would have liked to make a big one for his team though, but did a decent job.
