Glamorgan gave away 367 runs to Derbyshire in the first innings of the County Championship Division Two match, at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, on June 28, 2011.
The hosts would have liked to restrict the opposition below 300, but they would have been pleased with their bowlers’ performance towards the end of the innings, as Derbyshire were eying a solid total above 400 at one stage of the game.
Glamorgan had plenty of work to do once they came out to bat. However, the home team’s batsmen failed to make an impression in their first outing. They were all-out for 213 and were forced to follow-on.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alviro-Nathan-Petersen-c43849, who is the skipper of Glamorgan, was impressive in the innings, as he collected 93 runs. He lacked support from his team-mates though, as none other batsman was able to take his score past 50.

http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-James-Powell-c75991 looked in good form, as he struck three classy fours in his 14 runs off 19 balls, but edged one away swinging delivery, into the hands of the wicketkeeper, Luke Sutton, who made no mistakes behind the stumps.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Allenby-c65438 were the next two wickets to fall in the Glamorgan’s innings. They were sent back to the pavilion for one and zero respectively and the hosts were in deep trouble, losing five batsmen for 60 runs on the board.
However, wicketkeeper batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mark-Alexander-Wallace-c74495, gave good support to his skipper. The pair led the fight back for their side with a 68-run stand for the sixth wicket.
The keeper batsman played well, but was dismissed after contributing 33 runs to the total. He was followed by two quick wickets, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Grant-Wagg-c60586 were sent back to the pavilion for a duck and six respectively.
Petersen was looking for some support from the other end, which was given to him by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dean-Andrew-Cosker-c53371. The pair collected 60 runs for the ninth wicket partnership before the Proteas batsman was finally dismissed. He played superbly for his 93 runs.
Cosker remained unbeaten on 30 and Glamorgan were all-out for 213. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jonathan-Clare-c1729 did a tremendous job for his side, picking up five wickets in the innings.
