Derbyshire lose to Leicestershire despite good batting show: Friends Life T20 – First Innings Recap

but was unable to do so and was stumped in an attempt to play an aggressive stroke.

This might have been the reason for him to be over cautious in the innings. He top scored the Derbyshire innings with 44 runs from 43 balls, striking six
boundaries. The Kiwi start would have liked to bat until the end, but was dismissed in the 16th over of the innings.

Middle-order batsmen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ross-Andrew-Whiteley-c86874 and Gary Park took advantage of the solid platform laid by their top-order batsmen and played some big shots towards the end of the innings. They finished with unbeaten 21 and 22, guiding their team’s total above 150.
Derbyshire’s start was a touch slow, which cost them some useful runs.
Only four wickets fell in the hosts’ innings, but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harry-Frederick-Gurney-c61806 did a terrific job, restricting the opposition to a relatively lesser total on a good batting wicket. He took one wicket for just 14 runs in three overs.
