Derbyshire renew Jonathan Clare's contract - Cricket News Update
English County Derbyshire has renewed its contract for the services of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jonathan-Clare-c1729, who is a competent all-rounder in domestic cricket.
Clare has been playing for the county ever since he made his debut in a List A match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782, on September 4, 2007.
The head coach of Derbyshire, Karl Krikken, has acknowledged the talent of Clare as an all-rounder and spoke of him as,
"Jon has all the talent and attributes to succeed both as a batsman and a bowler. He also brings an excellent attitude and work ethic to the camp. I'm delighted he will be here for at least the next three years."
Clare was hungry for cricket ever since his childhood and came in to the lime lights once he played Under-11 cricket. He kept his promise by hard work and represented http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 and Derbyshire 2nd XIs and finally made his place in Derbyshire.
The 25-year-old is a right-hand batsman and a right-arm medium fast bowler.
He has played 34 First-class matches and scored 1139 runs at an average of 27.11, with the best of 130.
The lanky bowler has acquired 92 wickets at an average of 29.14 runs per wicket with the best of 7 for 74.
Clare has appeared in 31 List A matches, scoring 206 runs and grabbing 24 wickets at an average of 40.37.
The right hander has scored 48 runs and has taken four wickets at an average of 65.25 runs per wicket in the Friends Life T20 2011 competition.
He also has nine wickets at an average of 25.88 runs per wicket with the best of 3 for 61 runs in the Clydesdale Bank 40, 2011.
