Derbyshire v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glamorgan-c784 - County Championship Division Two - 3rd Day – Live Score and Update
Glamorgan 236 & 188 v Derbyshire 355 & 71/2 (12.3 ov) - Derbyshire won by 8 wickets
Friday: Derbyshire wrapped up their four-day County Championship Division Two match against Glamorgan on the penultimate day, winning the match by eight wickets, successfully chasing a target of 70 runs needed to win the match at County Ground, Derby.
The day was extremely eventful as not only did Derbyshire complete their first innings, but also bowled-out their opponents and then went on to bat their way to a sensational win.
The fiery day began with the hosts resuming their first innings from a tally of 335 runs with WL Madsen on 122 and DJ Wainwright on 12.
Wainwright was a disappointment as he hit the showers after adding just a run to his overnight score, which triggered a batting collapse as the lower-order were left flabbergasted by Glamorgan.
At the end, the team managed to pile 355 runs with Madsen unbeaten on a staggering total of 130 runs.
It was then time for the visitors to begin their second innings, and the way they had batted in their first innings, they were expected to stagger an intimidating second innings total to place the hosts in a spot of bother.
However, this was just not their day as they kept losing wickets, a turmoil that began on the demise of their first wicket with only five runs on the board as dependable batsman, GP Rees, faltered on a tally of four.
Then with the addition of only a run, the side lost the services of NA James, who perished without troubling the scorers.
A bad start was all Glamorgan needed to land in trouble, nonetheless, middle-order batsmen, WD Bragg and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-North-c1982 took the charge to sail their side out in calm seas.
The denting partnership then came to its demise on the wicket of North, who fell after playing an innings of 21 runs, while later with 123 runs on the board; Bragg also took the final bow after scoring an innings of 78 runs.
Derbyshire then ruled supreme as they restricted the batting side on a tally of 188, thanks to a phenomenal bowling performance from DJ Wainwright, who dismissed five batsmen.
The side then reached the target without any hassle for the loss of only two wickets, securing a befitting victory.
