Derbyshire’s Tony Palladino signs new contract - Cricket News Update
Derbyshire pacer, Tony Palladino, has extended his current stay with the English county by signing a new, two year contract, which will see him playing at least until the 2013 season.
After being released from his duties by his former side Essex, at the end of 2010, the 28-year-old joined Derby, to prolong his playing career.
The move was a success, as he remained a key member of the side in all competitions, which led him to earn an extension. He praised the side and vowed to even work harder.
"I'm very happy to have signed an extension, I believe the team is moving in the right direction and I hope to spend a long time here at Derbyshire,” he said joyfully after penning a new contract.
A promising start to his career saw him earning great reviews from all corners. He performed well for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 Second XI, which helped him earn a county call with Essex in 2003.
His most notable performance came against a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-Key-c2349, where the pacer showed his true potential, grabbing career best-figures of 6-41.
However the following season, he suffered a shoulder injury, which hampered his growth and kept his participation to a minimum.
With Palladino moving to Derbyshire, his career has rejuvenated and he is enjoying his bowling and cricket in general.
"It has been enjoyable playing regular first team cricket, bowling plenty of overs and taking wickets,” he said.
As for Derby’s head coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Karl-Matthew-Krikken-c70321, he too was pleased to convince the seamer in signing a new-deal.  Karl said the extension is a reward for good bowling and hopes that the player carries on his winning ways.
Teh Head coach said, “Tony has led the way with the ball this season, always brimming with energy, running in hard and regularly taking important wickets.”
The player has so far played in 62 first-class matches, taking 154 wickets at an average of 31.92.
Palladino so far stands on 37 wickets for the season, with his top performance coming against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Middlesex-c817, where he took 5-39 in April 2011.
