Derealization question???

Okay. Well, I used to think that I was the only one who existed and that everyone else was a figment of my imagination. I looked it up and I really thought I had socipilism syndrome, which really scared me.

Well, now that I think I have derealization, and that this is just a product of my own mind, I kind of want to have socipilism syndrome, which I know probably isn't good.

But just because I want to have it doesn't mean that I will get it, right???

  1. Slow down. Why would you want to have any disorder? You need to talk to a counselor and find out whether you need to just talk it out or maybe have more of an evaluation. Don't try and figure it out yourself let a professional help you to figure out what is going on.

  2. i can understand wanting to have something like that, but no, wanting it doesn't make it so.

actually, the idea that we are the center of our universe and nothing else really exists has been pondered for some time by great philosophers.  in fact, descartes wasn't even sure he existed until he finally decided that thought = existance (ie I think therefore I am).  Even after that he struggled with the idea that anything else around him existed as he couldn't tell if they were really thinking or if he was just thinking they were thinking.
