Dereck Chisora: Ashamed at tarnishing the name of the sport I love the most – Boxing news
Dereck Chisora, the Briton heavyweight who lost his edge after collecting a defeat from Vitali Klitschko in the WBC heavyweight skirmish, humbly apologised and admitted that he was insolent in punching and insulting David Haye, taking full responsibility
of creating chaos and bringing bad name to his own beloved sport.
Chisora and Vitali collided in Germany for a 12-round bout. The outcome, which was a bit obvious, frustrated the 28-year-old Chisora. Dereck, infamous as the Del Boy, attacked David Haye, the former WBA British heavyweight, who pointed three fingers at the
beaten challenger reminding him of his career's third defeat.
After cooling down and looking at the things professionally Dereck has come up with the best facet to admit his outlandishness. Dereck who was later on apprehended by the German police and kept under investigation for almost seven long hours said that he
is sad for creating such a mess and bringing disgrace to the sport that he not only plays but completely adores and respect.
Dereck remarked, "Whilst my behavior was inexcusable, there were many things that went on behind the scenes that ultimately caused my frustrations to boil over. Despite all of this, the bottom line is I have let my family, my team and -- worst of all --
the sport I love down. I acknowledge that my actions were totally unprofessional, with or without provocation. Now, with a cool head and the benefit of hindsight, my actions at the weekend were regrettable to say the least and I am deeply embarrassed."
Chisora who was vehemently bashed by Haye said that he is not totally guilty for what he did on his careers pivotal night. Dereck explained that he was frustrated not only by the bout-loss but also by a pile of other matters which eventually provoked him
to do such a disaster.
Dereck revealed that he cannot at the moment put forth the aspects that raged him since the current slugfest with Haye is already under investigation by British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC). Chisora continued to confess and said that boxing is all about
controlling your aggression and playing the sport while abiding by certain rules. He added that he definitely crossed the line and he should have been more professional towards the sport.
At the moment the German police is in pursue of David Haye to take his view point regarding the mishap. After that Chisora will be judged for his actions most probably will face charges of simple assault.
