Dereck Chisora and David Haye promise to behave – Boxing News
Both Dereck Chisora, who got his BBBC license revoked for misbehaving with Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali Klitschko and David Haye, and David Haye, who is coming out of retirement to face Dereck Chisora, have promised to behave in the pre and post fight promotional
events for the fight. Both the fighters will face each other in the ring on July 14 at the Upton Park in London.
Both the fighters were present at a press conference to promote the fight. As officials of both the teams feared the fighters clashing at the promotional events, they promised everyone that they would keep their calm. Chisora said, “Right now I am behaving
myself, after the fight I will try to behave myself but in the ring I'm not going to behave myself. All I will say is it is going to be a great fight and I would love my opponent to come out of the ring healthy and the same for me.”
On the other hand, Haye commented, “In the ring I have never really done too much to break the law, even outside of it, whereas I've seen him bite people. So I don't think people should put the spotlight on me because I'm a consummate professional inside
and outside of the ring, this guy has a history of being the polar opposite of that.”
Haye added that most fighters have already seen what he can do outside the ring and now it is time for them to see what he will do inside the ring. Haye added that outside the ring, there are no rules but inside the ring there will be rules and Chisora will
have to behave. He added that it will be a boxing match and not a street brawl.”
For now, Haye and Chisora have promised that they will behave and will not engage in another public brawl like the one that happened earlier this year. Chisora got his BBBC license cancelled for misbehaving with Haye, Vitali Klitschko and Wladimir Klitschko.
He was also recommended by the BBBC to take anger management classes. The fight is not being sanctioned by the BBBC since neither of the fighter holds a British fighting license.
