Dereck Chisora believes something big will happen from him in Moscow – Boxing News
Dereck Chisora, the 28-year-old boxer who recently got his license suspended, was present at the Crocus City Hall in Myakinino, Russia. The boxer made his guest appearance at the cruiserweight bout between Denis Lebedev and Shawn Cox saying that something big will happen for him. He spoke before the fight commenced through a microphone.
Chisora was looking in a jolly mood with his usual shades and white blazer style. He even danced with a Russian singer who was opening the fight.
Chisora is currently banned from boxing for an indefinite period by the BBBC for his misbehaviour against Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye. He filed an appeal to the board earlier this week to review the decision made earlier. According to his lawyer, there were certain irregularities throughout the process.
On the other hand, the banned boxer also has the opportunity to apply for license through another country. In his speech, he said, “I’ll be back in the ring very soon. But right now I am enjoying being a back-up dancer.”
Chisora had slapped the current WBC World Heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko a day before the fight at the face-off photography session. He then spat water in the face of Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali’s younger brother, before the fight started. Later on, at the post-fight press conference, Chisora got involved in a public brawl with David Haye.
The German police had taken Haye and Chisora in for interrogation and soon released them. However, Chisora was then summoned by the BBBC to explain his actions. At the hearing, Chisora’s license was cancelled along with a recommendation of taking anger management classes. David Haye luckily escaped the scene since he does not hold a British boxing license.
For now, Chisora’s promoter is trying his level best to arrange a bout between Haye and Chisora soon. His lawyer is trying to get his license retrieved so that the pugilist can carry on with his career. If the BBBC does not grant him permission, chances are that Chisora will fight on behalf of another country, probably Russia since that is what it looks like right now.
