Dereck Chisora ready to stop David Haye’s bid for rematch with Wladimir Klitschko – Boxing news
The current British heavyweight champion, Dereck Chisora, is ready to get in the way of David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye, as he wishes to take on the IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO and Ring Magazine world heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko.
Dr. Steelhammer, Wladimir Klitschko, recently added the WBA champion belt to his titles, as he recently secured a unanimous points’ victory over the 30-year-old brash Londoner, Haye in Germany.
Haye, who added a second defeat to his record, is now desperate for a rematch with the 6 ft 6.5” Ukrainian giant as he wants to avenge his defeat.
However, the Del Boy, Chisora says this time it is going to be him against Wladimir. The 27-year-old undefeated pugilist, Chisora, who has won all of his 14 fights including 9 by the way of a knockout, has been scheduled against Wladimir two times before
but the fight did not happen as Wladimir pulled himself out because of an injury on both occasions.
Chisora is set to face Tyson Fury on July 23, 2011 and was happy upon learning that Wladimir is eyeing to face the winner of the Tyson vs. Chisora bout.
He said he was disappointed as both times his fight with Wladimir could not happen but on the same note, he remarked it is life and one has to deal with such problems.
“The Klitschko chapter was a disappointment twice and very frustrating, but life goes on and my mental strength will not allow it to affect the outcome of this fight [with Fury],” he said. “Life is full of disappointments but, you learn to deal with them,
and move on. Klitschko owes me a fight. I hope he's a man of integrity and honours his commitment to me.”
In the end, Chisora claimed an easy win over Fury.
“Fury brings a dream, little else, into the ring,” Chisora said. “He is a poor man's version of (Wladimir) Klitschko - upright and robotic. He's like a tall tree and, like a tree, if you chop away at the trunk the tree will fall.”
