Dereck Chisora says fame is taking Tyson Fury away from reality – Boxing news
The current British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora has responded to the statements which have been coming from the current English heavyweight champion Tyson Fury ahead of their bout which is scheduled for Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Wembley Arena
in London.
The Chisora-Fury bout is being considered as a very promising one, as both pugilists have never been defeated in the ring as of yet. Moreover, they have a similar fight record of 14-0.
However, the 27-year-old Chisora believes there is nothing he should be worried about. Chisora, who has been out of the side since he beat Sam Sexton back in September 2010, told the media it is just like any other fight for him. He stated Fury has tried
a lot over the past two years to disturb him but he has not been able to do so.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I really don't see anything in Fury that concerns me too greatly. I see this as a similar fight to Gary Mason versus Jess Harding, another similar heavyweight who stood bolt upright and got punished for it. Tyson
Fury's comments and attitude are quite funny, his wit is just not sharp enough to get under my skin but he keeps wasting his energy trying to.”
The Del Boy, Chisora, added his 23-year-old opponent just wants to be a part of the headlines and for that he is talking about a lot of things which in reality do not even exist.
The 27-year-old also said Fury has never been able to prove himself inside the ring the way he talks outside.
Chisora remarked, “He is so desperate for fame it is taking him away from reality, it's laughable, and he would do anything or say anything to get a headline and when it matters most, in the ring, he just hasn't delivered.”
Tyson Fury has defended the English belt twice against one-time contender John McDermott. However, let’s see whether he is able to do it for the third time or not.
