Dereck Chisora slaps WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko – Boxing news
Heavyweight and Vitali Klitschko’s upcoming opponent Dereck Chisora lost his temper and slapped the former during a press conference just days before their final combat.
Camps of both the fighters were shocked to see this happen and immediately pulled them back. The incident happened on Friday, February 17, 2012, in Munich, Germany, when the pair was facing photographers for pre-bout pictures.
The incident was not only shocking to Vitali’s camp but also to Chisora’s camp, since no one actually believed this would happen. Dereck Chisora has previously spoken about his anguish over the Klitschko brothers and how much he has despised them since the
beginning.
Probably Chisora could not wait for the match to take out his anger on his opponent and unleashed his fury right at the press conference.
When asked about losing his temper, Chisora stated, “It was not planned. It was just something that happened and I did it because they [the Klitschko brothers] have messed me around for two years.”
On the other hand, people who witnessed the incident felt shocked and did not have words. Even Chisora’s own trainer, Don Charles, was unable to comment on the incident fully since he did not know where the crows flew.
When asked, Don iterated, “I'm very worried. I'm disturbed. That was not meant to happen. This is a sport and that was not good.”
While Dereck Chisora claims he is frustrated over Vitali since the heavyweight bout has been cancelled twice before in the last two years, the later has been heard appreciating his opponent the public appearances he has made this week.
However, now Vitali Klitschko sounds furious. After the incident, he was heard saying, “You're fucked now, Dereck, you are really fucked. I'll be hitting him back tomorrow, in the ring. He's not all there.”
Not only this, Vitali also went on to say that Dereck Chisora made a loser’s attempt when he immediately backed off after hitting Vitali. Vitali further said that Dereck had hit him like a girl with a open hand and not like a boxer, which shows how afraid
Dereck is to face him.
