Derek Jeter celebrates while Alex Rodriguez suffers from injury – MLB News
It seems the exciting and woefully worrying news had to come together for the New York Yankees. Alex Rodriguez is reported to have slight tear in the meniscus in his right knee, something that has put a bit of a worry for the jubilant New York Yankees.
The Yankees who were cheerfully celebrating the Derek Jeter’s anxiously awaited 3,000 hits were later informed of the problem. Rodriguez may have to meet specialists on the injury that afflicts him.
“I think we’re going to talk to people who know, the specialists,” Rodriguez said “I’ve done one part of that. Tomorrow we do the second part.”
Alarms were not initially raised, even though there was some apprehension that something had seriously been affecting Rodriguez. For last 85 at-bats, the ever famous and highly admired New York hitter has not been able to hit a homer.
Even though it was not formally know, it was noticed previously that the hitter was slightly unable to use enough power to play the shots, partially because he had some pain.
“There’s a lot of times when players just play through things and you find out later,” Girardi said. “He was playing through it and there were types of days when it was better than others. I think sometimes when you have those types of things as a player,
you don’t think about it.”
Much as his sudden departure has somewhat overshadowed the achievement of Jeter – his 3,000 hits, Rodriguez return – also, is subject to a wild guess. Unless he undergoes a thorough check, it cannot be said with confidence when he will return.
However, despite the sharp pain that the Yankees’ hitter Rodriguez seemed to have, he joyfully proceeded to Jeter to felicitate him and cheer with the whole team for his glorious attainment.
Eric Chavez is now said to be prepared in case Rodriguez is put on the disabled list. Chavez, who is not perfectly fit himself, will find it increasingly difficult to fill the space considering the stature of Rodriguez.
Chavez, affected by a kidney stone and injury on left foot, will not probably be an ideal replacement for Rodriguez. However, the lack of options makes the choice abundantly clear, as no matter how inadequate a substitute, Chavez alone can somehow provide
a strong offence to the Yankees in the absence of Rodriguez. There are not many players in the MLB that can fill the void of a player like Rodriguez.
While the nature of injury is yet to be fully determined, the clouds of doubt continue to occupy the sky of happiness for the New York Yankees: Jeter achieves, while Rodriguez leaves.
