1) He has way more experience

2) Better overall player

3) Better fielding skills

I didn't pick David Wright because it's tough to tell if he is going to become a 5 years in a row All-Star and a gold glove award winner.

Jeter, because he wins, while Wright folds in the fall.  But what do you expect? He's a Met, this is what they do.

Wright is young with power and speed and a huge upside potential while Jeter is on the downside of a very good career.  A substantial edge to Wright at this point in both of their careers.

Maybe if they were in their prime around the same time, this might make for a good conversation.  But Jeter is nearing the end of his dominance as one of the best infielders in the league, while Wright is just beginning his.
