Dernard Robinson expected to be in Michigan line-up this weekend
Michigan Wolverines quarterback Dernard Robinson is expected to be in the line-up this weekend when his team takes on the Indiana Hoosier.
Robinson was taken out of the Wolverines week four win over Bowling Green on the weekend, because of an injury to his knee. The Heisman candidate injured the knee after he was hit at the end of a massive 47-yard run in the first quarter. Although Robinson
was taken out in the first quarter he still managed 129 rushing yards to go along with two touchdowns in what was a very one-sided 65-21 victory.
Robinson has been the central cog in the Michigan offence this season, as his athletic ability and competence on the ground has led to the Wolverines adopting a wildcat-style offence. Michigan is now ranked second in the nation in rushing yards and 50th
in passing yards. Moreover, the club has tallied the 11th best offence, averaging 41.3 points a game.
With Robinson sidelined back-up quarterback Tate Forcier took control of the offence and complete all 12 of his passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. Nevertheless, the Wolverines face their first real test of the season in a conference game against Indiana.
The Hoosiers have put together a 3-0 record this season, but have yet to face a difficult opponent. However, the same can be said for the Wolverines, who have only been challenged by Notre Dame so far this season. With wins over the Irish, Connecticut, Massachusetts
and Bowling Green the Wolverines will be keen to have their best offensive player in the line-up on Saturday.
This season with Michigan, Robinson has tallied 731 passing yards and four touchdowns. In addition, the youngster has also rushed for over 100 yards in all four of his starts this season and has already accumulated six rushing touchdowns.
