Derrane Jake, clear favourite in Williamhill.com Grand Prix Final at Sunderland
J. Wright’s rampant hound, Derrane Jake, has given a final touch to his preparations for Thursday’s Williamhill.com Grand Prix Final at Sunderland, where he will aim for his eighth victory in a row. The October-09 son of Westmead Hawk has been unbeaten since
finishing second at Newcastle in late April.
During the past couple of months, he won many small and big events at different levels. After doing a lot of good work at Newcastle, the black dog came to Sunderland for the open races. He sealed an emphatic victory at this track before stepping into the
Williamhill.com Grand Prix.
In the opening round of the championship, the talented hound clinched the first rank by six and a quarter lengths. After an excellent victory, he did not relax even for a second, and delivered an outstanding performance in the semi-final round.
The spectators saw him doing a wonderful job and as a result of a fine act, the dashing hound ensured the first place by 7½ lengths. He is pumped up with confidence after two emphatic victories, and there is no reason why he should not have a big run tonight.
Among his rivals are: Dixies Air, Swift Reagan, Swabys Princess, Pond Shefelia and Ballintine Molly. The 640 metres race holds a massive cash prize worth £15000, which will be given to the winner at end of the day. According to the preset plan, the officials
will start the show at 21:25 GMT.
It is very hard to find out an alternative. According to our calculations, Dixies Air looks to be in the best position to make things a bit messy for the hot favourite hound. M. Wallis’ trainee has been performing consistently well over the past few weeks.
He narrowly missed the first place in the last two races.
Pond Shefelia has recently stepped up to this level, and we are uncertain whether he will be able to cope up with the pressure in the mega event. Swabys Princess was crushed by Derrane Jake last time, and dishing out revenge would be an uphill task for her.
Luck is not on Ballintine Molly’s side these days. Swift Reagan was an easy winner last time, but no one should forget that his opponents performed poorly that day.
According to our predictions, Derrane Jake is not going to face any difficultly in finishing first on the podium. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
