On May 4, 2011, two games were played in the second-round of the 2011 NBA Playoffs – the conference semifinals. Subsequent are the top performances of the two games.
Chicago Bulls 86- Atlanta Hawks 73
Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah led the Chicago Bulls, as they defeated the Atlanta Hawks 86-73 in game-2 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals.
With this win the Bulls bounced back in the best of seven game series and tied the series 1-1 on Wednesday night at the United Centre, Chicago.
Derrick Rose
Rose scored game-high 25 points, handed out 10 assists, clutched six rebounds and also blocked two shots. Rose started his night by receiving the Most Valuable Player trophy from the Commissioner David Stern and he also boosted
his performance in the game.
The super-star proved his worth as 16 of his 25 points came in the first half of the game.
In the final seconds fans chanted “MVP! MVP!” after which Rose expressed his gratitude to the crowd and said the award is "for the city of Chicago, more than anything."
Joakim Noah
Noah led the Bulls from front, scored another dazzling double-double of his playoff career. He scored 19 points along with 14 rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block.
Dallas Mavericks 93 – Los Angeles Lakers 81
Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion spearheaded the Dallas mavericks, as they reeled past the erratic Los Angeles Lakers 93-81 on Wednesday night at the STAPLES Centre, Los Angeles.
With this victory in Western Conference semi-final the Mavericks put the Lakers into 0-2 hole and now have a golden chance to overthrow the two times defending champions out of the contest.
After the game Nowitzki said, "If you would have told me before that were going to win both games, that would have been hard to believe. But I think we earned it."

Nowitzki led the pack with his 24 points together with seven boards and two assists.
Nowitzki on facing the Lakers in Game 3 said, "This series is far from over. I've been around a long time. I've been up 2-0 before and ended up losing the series...we have to stay focused, stay together, let our home crowd rise
us on Friday, and hopefully get another great win."
Nowitzki came blasting out in the second game as well and hit 15 of his 24 points in the first half including a array of over the top jumpers, which were impossible to block.
Shawn Marion
Marion chipped in with 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds, just one rebound short to achieve another double-double of his career.
