Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo: Solid NBA draft pick of the last decade - Part 2
Derrick Rose-2008
The youngest of the four brothers but talent wise way ahead of all them and for this reason was the number 1 overall pick in the draft. Derrick was selected by Chicago Bulls and has impressed everyone since the inclusion. After
Michael Jordan’s retirement, Chicago Bulls performance started deteriorating with passing years.
That empty space was filled by Derrick Rose. He has taken this team to new heights again and it looks like Chicago Bulls will regain its lost position very soon if he stays with the team. In his three seasons so far, he has one
the rookie of the year award along with youngest ever MVP. His average is improving with every game and he is all set to become one of the greatest players basketball has ever seen.
Kevin Durant-2007
Though Greg Oden was the top draft of 2007 and Kevin Durant in the second position, he still proved to be way better than Oden. Despite being an excellent player, he do not gets enough praise as much as he deserves. He was signed
by Oklahoma City Thunder and plays as a guard and also capable of playing as forward.
His debut was not too extra ordinary and he has not won any awards or MVP but his average is improving with time. He averages 27.7 points per game which at any level is a very healthy average. People when they talk about Kobe
Bryant, LeBron James and etc usually forget about Durant but trust me he is the player of same class.
Rajon Rondo-2006
Rondo was not the top draft, in fact he was drafted 21st overall. He was traded to Boston Celtics and since then he has been the main player of Celtics.
He is one of the players whose stats don’t speak for him. Has a modest average but when it comes to running, I think he is one of the quickest in basket ball. No one at the moment runs quite like him. He does not score much but
his speed is definitely an asset for his team. He has a pretty solid defense too.
Celtics probably won the 2008 championship because of him. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t think they would have won it. He is the youngest player in his team and with others getting old around him, he is vital for his team.
