Derrick Rose, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant: Players who just cannot be traded–NBA Special
As the offseason pans out, many NBA teams are considering their options to land productive players and add strength to their rosters. Last years’ off season was the one to remember. Many players were relocated, but the LeBron James saga, that saw him take his talents to the South Beach, was the most ground breaking trade NBA has ever seen. The move effectively shifted the power centre of the league, and together with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, James formed a formidable offensive combination that will rule the league for years to come.
With the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics already boosting either an aged roster or the ones with some urgent help required, this offseason won’t be any different. Then there are other teams like the Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, New Jersey Nets and the Golden State Warriors who need to shore their lineups with superstars and the free agency will be just the right time to attract players.
There are many players like Nene Hilario, James Jones and David West, who have already announced their availability. This however is just the start and there are many players like Tyson Chandler, J.J. Barea, who have yet to take a decision. The team trades are also unpredictable and we may see some high profile player getting relocated.
However, in the midst of all this hoopla, there are some players who will stay where they are regardless of anything.
Derrick Rose
The heartthrob of the Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose is on the top of players who will stay in the Bulls uniform, whatever the case may be. Ever since the legendary Michael Jordan championship era culminated, the Chicago Bulls struggled to mark an impression until the epic emergence of the influential Rose. Playing in his hometown team, the league’s reigning MVP guided the Bulls to the best regular season record and then took them to the Eastern Conference Finals, only to be stopped by the Big Three of Miami Heat.
The Chicago fans love Rose more than anything and his trade would cause a revolt in the city. Derrick is reiterated his commitment to the team time and again and has vowed to make a comeback with Bulls next season.
LeBron James
Despite of all the flak, LeBron James has drawn after his disappearing act in the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, one thing is for sure – the King is not going anywhere. James is without doubt, the best player of the post Jordan era and as such, there is no player as gifted as James.
Although, the Heat lost the NBA Finals this time, they are already being considered as the favourites to bag the title next time around and James forms a very huge chunk of that assessment. He is young, athletic and most importantly he is still without a ring. So, even if all of Cleveland, Charles Barkley and the James bashers shout in unison to relocate him, nothing would change at the South Beach. The King is here to stay.
Dwyane Wade
One of the best shooting in NBA, Dwyane Wade is not only the corner stone of Miami Heat; he has become a trademark for the team and the fans from the South Beach own the superstar. Wade guided the team for the NBA title in 2006 and with Chris Bosh and Jameson his side, he and Miami Heat are all set to rule the league for many years.
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant is the face of the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is foundation around which the franchise a developed a core of young guns, who are fast emerging as the leaders of the western Conference. Durant might is a two time scoring champion, he is probably the best shooter in the league along with Dirk Nowitzki and trading him would mean that the Thunder will ruin their years of hard work.
