Derrick Rose bullish about Chicago Bulls’ chances next season – NBA News
Derrick Rose is confident that he and his team can pick up from where they left off last season and go a step further this time around. In a recent interview, he also revealed that he is already preparing for next season and will
come back stronger than before.
Derrick Rose was one of the most amazing success stories of last year. He emerged as the leader of the Chicago Bulls and his splendid play enabled his side to clinch the number one seed in the playoffs. His efforts were rewarded
with the regular season MVP trophy, making him the youngest in NBA history to receive the honour.
However Chicago and Derrick’s fairy tale came to an abrupt end when they faced off against the star studded Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat had a Big Three comprising LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh,
which ultimately proved too much for Rose and the Bulls.
Rose, who had confined himself to his house for a long period after the defeat in the Eastern Conference Finals, said that he is hungrier than ever and raring to go. The player said he had every confidence that Chicago can be successful
next season,
“I’m d**n confident,” Rose asserted. “Knowing that my teammates are getting better, I’m getting better and we’ve just got to go out there and ball out.”
During the post season, Derrick’s own performances were below his high standards, but commentators believed that the major cause of the Bulls downfall was the lack of help by his teammates. It is a commonly held belief, that the
MVP point guard needs better players around him if he is to get his hands on the holy grail of NBA. There are rumours that the Bulls are looking to add to their roster, but Rose said he didn’t know of it and reposted his trust in his current colleagues,
“We [Rose and the Bulls' front office] talked a little bit, but nothing serious. It was too early,” he continued. “We’re good right now. I’m not worried about getting another player right now.”
Derrick Rose has a driven personality and the explosive point guard typically blamed himself for the loss to the Heat. The player believed his body wore down by the time they reached the Eastern Conference Finals and that he was
subsequently not able to perform at his best.
He is now working at conditioning his body better and is ready for the challenge,
“I know that I’ll be prepared for it. Or try to be prepared for it. Like I said, working hard and trying to be positive,” Rose continued. “Of course, if our defense was a little better, but I wouldn’t have changed anything for
myself besides my conditioning.”
