Derrick Rose nets 34 as Chicago Bulls overpower Milwaukee Bucks 107-100 - NBA Recap
The Chicago Bulls had tasted defeat at the hands of Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, however just two days later, they came back strong and collected their 17th win of the season by downing Milwaukee Bucks 107-100.
Once again it was Derrick Rose who guided the Bulls to victory.
Rose was outstanding and pounded 34 points on 14 for 24 from the floor and 6 for 10 from the charity stripe.
"I talked to Thibs before the game, at shoot around, and he was showing me film of me just attacking," Rose said. "That's what I tried to do out there. When we lose a game, guys are amped up to come out and play again. You can
tell just at practice. Everybody is just focused in."
His team mates played the supporting role to perfection as well.
Carlos Boozer accumulated 20 points on 8 for 15 from the floor. Joakim Noah had a double-double with 15 points and 16 boards while CJ Watson came off the bench and amassed 13 points including 3 for 6 from downtown in the 18:28
minutes he spent inside the court.
Brandon Jennings marshalled the Bucks offense with 25 points on 10-for-22 from the floor while Drew Gooden, who started in the place of injured Bucks star Andrew Bogut, impressed with his 23 points and 15 boards.
"We played as hard as possible on both ends of the court," Gooden said. "But that wasn't our best basketball. We know that. Kind of use the Bulls as a measuring stick."
Jon Leuer came off the bench late and registered 19 points whereas Stephen Jackson finished with 10 points.
Bucks put up a good fight in the first half and were neck and neck with the Bulls by the end of the half, behind by only a point 50-51.
Bulls got aggressive in the third frame and started with a game changing 16-4 spurt to get in a commanding position, ahead by 67-54. Chicago maintained the double digit lead rest of the quarter and finished it with an 11 point
lead 79-68.
The Bucks showed some resurgence in the deciding quarter and outscored the Bulls 32-28, however the previous frame’s deficit did not allow them to finish on the top. The game thus petered to an end with Chicago still ahead.
