Derrick Rose proceeding well with rehab, has started shooting practice – NBA News
It has been a heart breaking last few months for the Chicago Bulls fans as well as their favourite sports athlete, Derrick Rose. The Bulls battled with injury troubles all throughout the past NBA season to still dominate the Eastern
Conference and clinch the top seed. However, their franchise player and team leader Derrick Rose tore his ACL in game 1 of the Playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers. Rose was sidelined for the rest of the season and the Bulls lost the series in 6 games to
the 8th seeded team in the conference.
As the Bulls lost the series, Rose sat in the crowd helpless. For months, a clash of Eastern Conference giants Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals was anticipated, but with Rose, went all the dreams of
the Bulls fans.
However, the Bulls nation now has something to cheer about, as Rose has recently said that he is progressing well with his recovery, and has even started jumping.
Rose was present at an Adidas promotional event to launch his new line of sneakers, when he was asked about his recovery from the ACL injury and the surgery that followed on May 12th.
“My recovery has been good, where (I'm) rehabbing every day, five times out of the week. I'm starting to shoot now, I started to jump a little while ago. My leg does get sore sometimes, but I'm able to fight through it, but my
trainers and the people that have been working on me have been making sure that I've been doing a great job,” said Rose.
Rose also talked about how the injury has given him a chance to work on his core and improve his upper body strength, which he now realizes is very important for basketball players.
“I didn't work on my core as much as I do now. That's a huge part of getting back. Basketball players don't usually have to work on our core like that, because we work on our hips and weights,” added Rose.
Rose was initially expected to be out of action for 8 to 10 months and Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf has said that he will not let Rose play till he is 100 percent healthy. However, with the updates that are being given out, Rose
seems to be ahead of schedule.
