Derrick Rose starts sprinting and cutting on his surgically repaired left knee – NBA News
As the Chicago Bulls continue to hand around the 0.5 win ratio mark this season, Derrick Rose continues to make progress in his recovery from the ACL injury that brought the Bulls championship hopes to a halt last season. Rose,
the franchise player, team general and former MVP of the Chicago Bulls, has start cutting and sprinting on his surgically repaired left knee, to the relief of not only himself and his teammates, but also of the Bulls fans were are desperate to see the hometown
hero back on the court as soon as possible.
Rose tore his ACL last season during game one of the Eastern Conference first round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. His season ended there and then, and the team went on to loose the series. Rose then underwent surgery and
was expected to be out for eight to twelve months. As he continues to make progress in his recovery process and edges closer and closer to being back in the team practice sessions for full contact training, his teammates are getting motivated by the level
of hard work and dedication he is putting into his rehab.
“I think he looks really good. He looks great, actually,” said Bulls center Joakim Noah about his teammate at a charity event for the Noah’s Arc Foundation.
Rose has kept his public appearances to a minimum ever since he got injured, and wants to stay away from the media and focus completely on his recovery. His teammates say that he is edging towards his goal and making good progress.
"I think that this season there's been highs and lows. First of all, it's been different playing without Derrick, but it also makes you (realize) ... what I love about playing with Derrick is I feel like it's always more than basketball.
Just him being from Chicago, it gives me more motivation and if things go well I feel like he'll be back and that's exciting,” added Noah.
Like most people in the Bulls organization and in the city of Chicago who cannot wait for Rose to take the court at the United Center again, Noah also feels that Rose will be the same player he was before the injury, if not better,
once he makes his return.
“There's no doubt in my mind. There's no doubt in my mind because I know how hard he works,” added Noah.
