Derrick Rose walking without knee brace as he continues to rehab from knee injury – NBA News
Chicago Bulls star point guard and former MVP Derrick Rose is making great progress in his recovery from injury, said his brother and manager Reggie Rose on Thursday.
Rose suffered an ACL injury on his left knee in Game 1 of the first round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers. He had surgery on his knee on May 12th, and was sidelined for the next 8 to 10 months which will see him missing
a big chunk of the next NBA season.
However, Reggie Rose shared some good news for Bulls fans when he said that Rose is now walking without a knee brace.
"He's walking without a (brace). He's way ahead of schedule. It's just keeping him focused, and we're not trying to rush him. Basically, just rehab, rehab, rehab. We haven't put nothing basketball in his face," said Reggie
Rose is currently in Los Angeles where he continues to rehab from his injury and hopes to get in shape as soon as possible. The injury came as a heart break not only for Bulls fans, but for Rose himself, who had a great chance
this year of winning an NBA championship with a solid Bulls roster that finished with the best record in the league and won a number of games without him.
Reggie said that Rose was in Los Angeles so that he could relax, without having to worry about all the attention he receives in Chicago. Rose has become a huge celebrity in Chicago after bringing back Basketball glory to the city,
which has a rich history with the Bulls and Michael Jordan.
"It's just a peace of mind. He can't do too much in Chicago. The other day I talked to him, he was at Target just picking up stuff. Stuff like that, you can't do in Chicago," said Reggie.
Rose has not spoken to the media ever since he suffered the injury. However, numerous reports have informed that Rose is progressing well with his rehab and looking to come back to the NBA healthy and strong. Bulls Head Coach Tom
Thibodeau, General Manager Gar Forman and the doctor who performed surgery on his knee, Dr Brian Cole, have all said in the past that Rose is making great progress with his recovery and rehab routine.
