i know the Derry accent is a northern irish accent but i read that the derry accent sounds more similar to southern irish than other northern irish accents do to southern irish.

which counties in southern ireland has accents that the derry accent sounds most similar to?

  2. Depends if you mean a Derry city accent or a county Derry accent - they're totally different. The city accent is most like neighbouring Donegal (in the south/Republic of Ireland), whilst the county accent is like the Antrim / North ulster / scots-Ulster accent.
