i think that detroit should win the play offs because they deserve it more. a twenty year old first year captain with only two years in the NHL doesnt deserve it more then the older more skilled players that have had hockey CAREERS just because they are faster.. do you agree??

I'll tell you who deserves it. The team that plays the best and wins. It doesn't matter how old the captain is. There is more than speed involved as the "older more skilled players" should know.

Its not who is deserving its about who wants it more. If Detroit doesnt win it as their final thing in their careers they can not blame it on anyone but themselves

It's not a question of who "deserves" it more. It's all about experience, goaltending, and who wants it more and willing to work for it. Obviously, the Wings are more experienced, Osgood is the better goalie, and the Penguins need to work to adapt to the Wings if they want to win the series. Plus, Theirren doesn't know how to coach in the Finals if it bit him in the as$. I just remembered two-time Cup winner, Daryl Sydor, plays for them. But he wasn't even dressed for the two month grind to provide the team with much-needed leadership.

Oh, and Detroit just lost.

Well I doesn't work that way. The team that plays the hardest, Has the most talent,and scores the most deserves to win. Pens deserve to be where they are regardless of age. Wings will win in 6. turning into a good series which is good for Hockey. Wings will take the next game!

Obviously the NHL wants this to be more of a series.  Just look at some of the non-calls, the high-stick on Lidstrom, the push of Hudler to intentionally take off the net during the power play, and the most obvious, the push of Lilja that screwed up Ozzy on the third goal.  Detroit will win, but it sucks that the refs have to in Pitts favor, especially since every two seconds the stupid announcers have to praise Pitt.

By the way, does anyone know when Eddie Olcyzk became Crosby's agent?  I honestly felt like it would have been more impartial announcing if Crosby's mom was announcing.  Jeez.

I disagree.  They award the Stanley Cup based on single season performance, not based on careers.  If it were based on careers, Norm Ullman, Brian Propp, Mike Gartner, Pavel Bure, Wendell Clark, Dino Ciccarelli, Marcel Dionne, Dale Hawerchuk, Pat LaFontaine, Cam Neely and Darryl Sittler would all have rings.

The only ones who deserve are the ones that win it.  I hope thats the Wings, but if the Pens can come back from 2 of the most lopsided games in recent SCF history and win it, then you will definitely be able to say that they deserved it.
