"Mr Abramovich will do whatever he wants but I would really love to see Di Matteo keep the post"
The former Chelsea assistant manager took over the reins of the club after the Blues owner, Roman Abramovich dismissed Villas Boas following Chelsea’s abject capitulation in the league.

The Italian has been appointed as the caretaker manager till the end of the season. Although a number of names have come forward as possible candidates for a full time management http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, Desailly believes that Di Matteo remains the best option for Chelsea.
"I really think that they should give him a chance and I hope he [Abramovich] will keep Di Matteo. As the manager, yes. You just have to cover yourself a bit in the future in case you want to get rid of him.” He added.
The former Chelsea man also highlighted that the Italian enjoyed good relations with some of the senior players in his side, unlike his Portuguese predecessor. Villas Boas is known to have had soar relations with some of the players, most notably the Blues

"You can see the commitment of [Didier] Drogba, [Frank] Lampard and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895. It is because of Di Matteo.”
“The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Benfica games have shown that there is a spirit and something special."
The Frenchman also claimed that too many changes in the team management can have an adverse effect on the club. He went on to say that Di Matteo has been around for quite some time and the players have already started to rally behind him.
On Villas Boas, Desailly said that the manager was unable to attune himself with club’s playing style and thought that the Portuguese can develop further at another club.
