Desalination Plants?

Question

Where have desalination plants previously been used and what problems have occured?

May not b right but by oceans and it makes salt water turn into drinkin/city water. and im guessing problems would be maybe malfunction and salt water into drinking system???

Some are found in the Middle East, where they can be driven by solar power. If solar power can't be used, energy costs are high. They are slightly lower if you use freeze-distillation, rather than heat.
