Deschamps set to pit attacking line up for today

The French team, in the ire of controversies and injury-plagued, is set to field an offensive line-up as opposed to the model applied by Laurent Blanc.
Didier Deschamps, the new man in charge of the France national side, a team marred with controversies in recent times, will make his debut as coach of the national team today, as France take on Uruguay in a pre-World Cup qualifiers friendly at Le Havre.
The former Marseille manager, and a former inspirational leader in 90’s for French national team, Deschamps, will be paying more emphasis on attack unlike his predecessor. The 43-year-old has already signalled to bring about an appreciable number of changes
in the setup whilst continuing with the good work of Laurent Blanc.
Blanc, a defender, during his professional playing stint, was more prone to defence rather than with an attacking flare. On the contrary, the newly appointed coach has already signalled an attacking intent, with the earlier adopted 4-2-3-1 line-up not on
the cards.
The most likely idea is to bring two strikers upfront noticeably Olivier Giroud and Karim Benzema. The two can either play as twin centre-forwards or as first and second strikers respectively.
According to Deschamps, “The advantage of having two strikers is the increased attacking presence”. Evidently, the manager wants the attacking flare of the forwards to be transformed to goals. Although, the new formation is definitely going to risk the defence,
yet the manager insists, “I don’t want to deprive myself of an attacking option”.
With the focus on attacking onslaught, Deschamps believes that the strikers are not supposed to stay upfront alone rather they need to come back, should the team is subjected to a counter-attack.
Though, the defence is not completely ignored as the two central midfielders have more of a defensive inclination, leaving Franck Ribery and Mathieu Valbuena to fulfill their playmaking duties.
The men in blue face a stern test against Uruguay today as the likes of Diego Forlan, the all-time top scorer for Uruguay, will be featuring in the match.  Though it is a blessing in disguise for the new manager, as the fierce striking pair of Luis Suarez
and Edinson Cavani will not be featuring for Uruguay today.
