  1. Two different types of scoring are;

    NETT - which is where the winner is the person with the lowest score after subtracting your handicap from your total score.

    STABLEFORD - which is where you get points for eagles(4), birdies(3), pars(2) etc, and none for bogies etc. This is any easier game for higher handicappers as they are not required to finish a hole if they have a big number on it and cannot score. The winner is the person with the most points

  2. Medal play and Match Play.  Medal play you count all strokes for each player for the stipulated round.  The player with the lowest total wins.  Match play you compare the strokes for each player on each hole, and the player that holes out in the least number of strokes wins that hole.  When a player is ahead (in number of holes won) by more than the remaining number of holes in the stipulated match then he is the winner.  (ie 3 up with 2 to play)

  3. 1. Stroke Play - The player with the lowest total score is the winner.

    2. Match Play - Two players (or teams) compete against each other. On each hole, the player with the lower score for that hole wins the hole. If they are even, the hole is "halved" - neither side wins the hole.

    The player who wins more holes wins the match.
