  1. Wet - dry; with a distinctive wet summer and dry winter (although the wet-dry cycle is much more noticeable than a warmer/cooler cycle.  Most rain falls between November and march.  In Cairns, with a 65 inch annual rainfall, on average 60 inches fall in this period.
