Describe five examples of behaviours that have a negative impact on your area.?

first of I all want to say I live in a rural area.. about 1 hour SW of the major city... I work in a small "tourist" resort near a big lake...

1 Idleing cars while shopping.. I mean that is rediculous

2 "Cottage people" using fertilizer on their yards.. it all washes into the lake..

3  High Demands for lakeshore property.. pushing wildlife out of the area

4  lack of recycling facilites means a TON of carboard (from the businesses) goes into the landfills...

5 "Tourists" dont treat the area with respect.. its their playground.. they mess it up - then leave...

Ultimately the biggest impact is POPULATION GROWTH...

1. Driving ridiculously big vehicles.  It raises gas prices, pumps more carbon into the atmosphere, and messes up parking.

2.  Using wood burning stoves.  They are fine in the country, but in the city they can make too much smoke.

3.  Lawn watering.  I live in a desert and everyone has big lawns.  

4.  Having a passive attitude toward environmental problems.

5.  People not picking up their dogs p**p by the lake.  This actually accumulates to the point where it raises the nitrogen levels in the lake.  This can cause algae growths that suck the oxygen out of the water when they die.  Its bad for fish.

1.Racism. I find that people of other nationalities dislike me but we have to live in the same area. 2.Drugs. There is an abundance of drug trafficking that negative affect this area and the children that live in this area. 3.Violence. There has been an increase of violence in this area that can be directly linked to the lack of education. 4.Teen pregnancy. Teen pregnancy seems to be an endemic in these parts and it provides poor examples for kids who look up to the teens in the neighborhood. 5.Police brutality. Police brutality is one very prevalent thing in my area that seems to affect everyone in the area no matter what age. It has been a growing problem for years.
