Its obviously changing it for the worse. I'm certain that you are referring to the Earth's budget in this situation. Glaciers are great reflectors of incoming solar radiation, particularly the short-wave radiation. As these melt, more energy is being added to the Earth. This makes it more difficult for the Earth to get rid of energy.
