I look out the window, and whether it's raining or sunny, I can feel happy by appreciating the moment and how special it can be. Every breath, and every body movement is amplified and it feels so incredible to be conscious and experiencing everything with your senses.There's no thoughts telling me that I need to do something or be somewhere. 21. Apparantly the formula for happiness is:

    Happiness = P + (5xE) + (3xH)

    where P= personal characteristics, such as outlook on life (optimism vs pesimism etc); E= existence (health, financial stability & friendships) and H=higher-order needs e.g. self-esteem, ambitions and expectations.  One interpretation of this formula also discussed time spent outdoors.

    I think there are two types of hapiness: the first one is a small, short-term emotion: the little things that make your day.  The other is a long-term feeling of stability and security where your needs are being fulfilled.

    As for the formula, perhaps it does make some sense but I think happiness is different for everyone, and perhaps to do with achievement: finishing extra work early so you can spend time with friends, mastering something new, making a relationship work - anything you can feel proud of can bring on happiness.
