  1. Both grizzly and swan are at risk of extinction, so they may not have enough adaptations. In particular both of these species have a low number of offspring. Swans do try to fight off predators, but evidence is that they often lose that fight, even with their low level of scent (an adaptation) and their habit of choosing an island to nest on. But islands get flooded so lose the brood.

Grizzly are seen as a threat to mankind, because they act that way, so they may be treated like enemies and trophies. Yes, they  hibernate when food is scarce, a great adaptation, but they are unable to survive with many other grizzlies around them because they need so much food. So males will kill off young males, even their own sons. That can be called an adaptive behavior.

  2. for a grizzly bear it would be a cool area that by any type of bodys of water.

and for a trumpeter swan it would be in a warm area with large amounts of  water areas.

  3. The bear hibernates through the long winter, conserving its resources.  Cubs are born then so they can be protected when they are most vulnerable.  Bears can put on great amounts of weight as winter approaches.  And they are top predators in most areas.

Swans migrate to take advantage of the seasons.    Flying helps them do so, and also helps them evade predators.  Living in flocks allows some to watch for danger while others feed or rest.
