  1. What particular documents are you asking about?  There are so many.  However, policy referring to state standards are monitored by the state.  Inspections are mandatory and unexpected especially when the "nursery" least expects one.  This probably doesn't answer your question.  Hopefully it's a start.

  2. I am not exactly sure what you are asking but all schools should have policies that the staff follows. There should be a staff handbook and a parent handbook listing these policies.

  3. Policies are guidelines that ensure conformation with predetermined standards.  There are three common sets of policies: rules and regulations set by the government (laws), personnel policies (govern the staff behavior) and parent/program policies (which define how the center or nursery work).  All three have similarities and differences... the biggest thing they all share is that they are trying to set standards to ensure the children have a safe and healthy environment.  This could be in terms of defining what a center can or cannot do, it could be to guide the teachers in how to discipline a child, or it could be to help the parents decide if a center's approach to childcare matches their own values and beliefs.

    Hope that helps a little.
