  1. In a hard, easily compacted soil such as clay, shredded tires can be mixed in to keep the soil from compacting so densely and thus promote plant growth. The less compacted soil will drain more readily, thus being ideal for relatively flat land areas such as athletic fields.

  2. omg! i play soccer and we went to one rich school (i play for my school) and their soccer field has the rubber and fake grass! it was so hard to get used to playing on because the ball bounces more and its easier to run in and you dont expect to run easily. and it smeels badly of burnt rubber. id rather play on a real soccer field than some fake rubber one, and so much for recycling! all that rubber could of been made in to soccerballs or basketballs....tires or swings.....

  3. dunno

  4. They can be used on athletic fields and golf courses because the shredded tires give the roots of the grass something to grow through.

Plant a small plant in a clear plastic cup.  Plant one with soil, one with rocks and the other with sand.  For instance, the rocks symbolize the shredded tires.  The plant grows better in the rocks because the roots have something attach to when they grow.
