  1. what kind of boring question is that?

  2. The Cold War ideology that crystalised after the second world war changed previous war time alliances by dividing the world by political/ideological boundaries rather than simply geographic. The Soviet Union, which had formerly been an American ally during WW2 became the United States main adversary due to Communist ideology and aggressive expansion into the regions of Eastern and Central Europe. This was also true of China once it became a Communist nation and spread its' political influence to other regions of Asia. Former allies became enemies whilst enemies prior to the Cold War became allies.

    Cheers

By the by, read up in your history text books regarding greater clarification concerning the Cold War and how it split the world into two distinct camps with few if any neutral countries allowed.

  3. The US and UK were allied with the USSR only because Germany needed to be defeated.  Churchill was extremely suspicious of Stalin the entire war and warned FDR that Stalin would try and take over a significant portion of Europe.  FDR, for whatever reason, signed over Eastern Europe to Stalin before he died.

Once the war was over and there was no longer a common enemy, the west and the USSR became obsessed with trying to spread their respective ideologies around the world.  Of course the most sought after area was Europe, but the two sides fought proxy wars around the world.
