  1. Dress ups help to develop imagination and creativity, also sometimes helps to develop memory skills as children try to play out scenes they have seen before, mum or dad getting ready for work, or playing 'mum and dad and baby'. The different fabrics and accessories help promote sensory development as the children touch these things while wearing them or sorting thru the clothes

  2. developing fine motor skills ie buttons zippers etc

    colors

    seasons

appropriate clothing for time of day

    role playing - careers

    imagination, creativity

    touch and feel of materials

  3. promotes creativity and imagination

  4. Dressing up, or any form of "pretend" play stimulates the child's imagination; thus stimulating the intellectual development because they are using their BRAIN when they participate in this type of play.   Of course, observing children during this type of play can sometimes be a good way to see what they're being exposed to & how they're being treated too.
